Principal's Message
Welcome to Salt Fork North Elementary:
It is an honor to serve as the principal of Salt Fork North. The 2024 - 25 school year is my ninth year in this position and with each year I have become more passionate about the opportunities that our school has to offer. We have students that are happy and eager to learn. We have a staff that is driven to help us reach our mission of ensuring excellence in learning for all students. We are part of a district that is committed to supporting its schools, staff, and students. We have a community that is involved and motivated to see its school succeed. These factors provide Salt Fork North with a solid foundation for achieving excellent results.
I am proud of the work we do at Salt Fork North Elementary school. We continue to respond to student needs to make sure we can grow with our students. In my time at SFN, we have added multiple positions. We have added a full time math interventionist, an additional special education teacher, an additional half day section of pre-k, and another classroom teacher to help with class sizes. We have upgraded technology in the classroom and created a one-to-one learning environment. We have started to provide free school supplies for all students. We have responded to safety challenges by installing a new fire alarm system and adding several safety features, such as secondary door locking mechanisms, an entry vestibule, and shatter proof film on all windows. Additionally, as of the 2023 - 24 school year, we have added a full time SRO at the north campus. We have improved the building by renovating classrooms, adding a new HVAC system that includes air conditioning, and new windows on the front of the building. As a district, Salt Fork #512 is always thinking about student needs and responding.
Throughout the school year, I look forwarded to getting to know all the Salt Fork North students a little better. I also hope I have the opportunity to speak with a majority of our parents. It is always my goal to develop as many positive relationships as possible. Please feel to reach out if you have any questions, comments, or concerns. I look forward to another fun and exciting school year.
Sincerely,
Eric Free
